On our way to Toronto, we stopped at the Norwood Rock Swap, an event sponsored by the Kawartha Rock and Fossil Club. We visited Fred McPherson of FM Meteorites and his wife Debbie. Fred is one of very few Ontario meteorite dealers, and had an excellent collection of meteorites from Canada and around the world. Fred’s been an avid meteorite hunter and metal detector enthusiast for many years. He even gave Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield a sample piece of the Chelyabinsk meteorite. This spectacular fireball entered our earth’s atmosphere Feb 15 2013 while Hadfield was in orbit in the ISS International Space Station !
