Manitou Asinîy, (Iron Creek), Alberta

Pre -1869

This 145 kg iron meteorite was long known to the First Nations of Alberta as a spiritual object. It was apparently kept on a hill-top east of Edmonton. It was taken in 1866 by Methodist missionaries, ending up at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto and currently in the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton.
