West Hawk Lake, Manitoba

West Hawk Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park, near the Manitoba/ Ontario border, is a 100 million year old impact crater. It is the deepest lake in Manitoba. It is popular for boating and scuba diving.

"Still Waters Run Deep"

There is a very nice open kiosk which describes the cosmic creation of the lake. There’s even a fireball sign and a local restaurant has taken on the theme. When we visited, the lake level was very high and the beach was underwater !
