On the Trail of the Great Canadian Meteorites
Brent Crater - "Boardwalk to Park Place"
In the northern part of Algonquin Provincial Park, down a 32 km rough bumpy road off Highway #17, lies a 400 - 450 million year old meteorite crater. It is visible as a 4 km wide circular structure containing several small lakes. It was created by a meteorite 150 m in diameter likely traveling at 20 km a second.
It was discovered in 1951 after an aerial survey showed a round feature.
